patio over garage

I'm building a garage dug into the side of a hill.
The garage has cmu walls and a hollow core roof. I would like to make the roof of the garage a basketball court with "sport court" tiles.

the hollow core slab will slope. Is there a way of waterproofing the roof other then throwing a membrane sheet on it? I'm concerned the sport court tiles will puncture holes into the membrane.

In your search for the material to waterproof your project, you may want to think about how a railing will attach if you have any fall protection issues. If you can embed stanchions to set your railing before you start waterproofing, it will save you a big headache.
