how long can you span a31/2 x 9 inch paralam on a bearing wall?

That would depend on the loads that it is carrying and it will be subjected to.

Lots to consider in specifying what any structural member will do.

there could be 3 floors above and resting on the beam in question, we do not know. the beam may not span more than 4' as in a header type situation..
