Packing out walls

Hi,

I am remolding my bathroom and the walls are 2x3, including the wall where the door is located. It is a non-load bearing wall. I want to put in a standard 4 1/2" door frame, but I know that will sit proud of the sheet rock. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fur out the walls to make this work? Thanks!

Buy a standard door with an 4 9/16 jamb and trim an inch off the non-opening side. You may be able to do the same with a split jamb door.

If your staining the Jamb make sure it is solid wood, some are MDF or plywood with a veneer on it.

It will be a hollow core that will be painted. Thanks
