Question

Outdoe kitchen counter height.

I am building an outdoor grill island and I am going to put my Kegerator under the counter. The problem is that my Kegerator is 37" tall. So I'm thinking that if I want it in the counter then the counter height needs to be 38". That is 2" higher than the norm.

Does anyone know if this will seriously impair the functionality of my kitchen? I am 5'11" and my wife is 5'3"

Thanks for your input!

Outdoe kitchen counter height.

although 36" is the recommended height, i find 37-38" to be more comfortable.
of course there is a big height difference between you and your wife. she may not find it suitable.

if the kegerator has a finished top, have you considered building the counter around it rather than over it??
another option may be to add an elevated floor in the work area. this would essentially bring you up 2". just be careful not to make it a tripping hazard.
on secong thought, that probably wont work because of the kegerator door clearance.

it's hard to say without knowing your layout/design.
