one piece shower bath unit.
we just ripped out a cast iron tub and wall surranding and the drywall behind it. now i want to know what do i have to do to put in the one piece bath unit. do you have to put anything on the bottom floor where you stand in the tub. it is fiberglass unit,or are they made to take a load of weight.thanks

First thing I'd do is make sure the unit could be brought in without tearing out doors or tearing down walls. As far as the floor goes you need a firm level subfloor. If you have picked out a Brand go to manufactures website many have their instruction manuals in pdf. downloads.

Wouldn't hurt to use a layer of sand under the new tub. Place building paper on the floor first. After you get the unit in the room as mentioned. They are pretty big. I've put them in new installs but no remodels. You need a very large area (door and room) to get it in place.
