old cement porch

My back porch is old and concrete. The steps down are way to steep (10"). I want to have a landing with steps going down. The existing landing and steps will be covered by a wood landing with steps coming off of the new landing along the house off the left of the landing.. My concern is covering the existing concrete with wood. How to attach?, how about rot? I only have 2" clearance from concrete to threshold of door. I am a DIY with just a little talent. Help please.

Can you update your profile so we know where you are.

Could you post a sketch or picture?

And could you rewrite you post because I lost you with landings coming off of landings and did not want to take a guess.

If I got most right, you have ten inches now and want to put the new landing over the existing one? I am confused. Sorry. Happens all the time to me. Happy to help though if I can.

Wooden decks need air flow under them. If not there going to rot out.

I added a pic to my post, hope this makes it clearer. The little landing and steps that are concrete measure 40"x 28 as seen in pic.

They have done their duty.
Demo and replace.

Once it's removed go back and add some support under that threshold.
What works for me is 1 X 6 vinyl lumber pushed up tight under the threshold and screwed in place with stainless steel trim head screws.
I'd bet of you stood on that threshold in the middle and you rocked back and forth you'll see it's twisting which will crack the sealing in the outside corners.
