Is it ok to use the shower without a ceiling in the bathroom?

I'm remodeling my bathroom and removed the ceiling. I left it undone so the plumber could remove the old plumbing in the room above the new bathroom. Im almost finished with the shower in the new bathroom. Is it ok to use the shower without a ceiling in the bathroom. Im afraid steam and moisture are going to get behind the walls into the insulation. Also afraid moisture will mess with the exposed wiring for the exaust fan/light. Should I install the ceiling before using the shower?

Yes
Many people use the shower without any walls during construction
--just shower curtains to keep the water in

Many people use bad judgement all the time. Doesn't make it the common sense thing to do.
If you really need to use the shower, staple up plastic to seal in the moisture and use the exhaust fan or open a window afterwards.

I think it would be OK as long as you are not turning it into a sauna in the bathroom and showering for 20 to 30 minutes. Run the exhaust fan and open a window if possible. Keep the shower short and on the cool side and you should be fine.

Why send all the water vapor into the framing for 3 minutes work with stapler, blue tape and painter's plastic? With the fan on and the ceiling exposed, you would be pulling outside room air in, possibly from the attic or crawl space through every electrical wire and plumbing hole that never got foamed for a number of reasons. Good way to find air leaks coming from or going to those places, though. That is at least a reprimand for an employee. One remodel company I worked for had the laborer demo the fireplace and chimney and wall between kitchen and family room. Never used any plastic, for two weeks, on the 6x3' hole in ceiling to the attic until an Inspector came by and shut the job down. Still using the kitchen with no zip walls! Black bits of insulation floating around everywhere.
Be safe, Gary
