Oil stain on concrete driveway. What is the best way to deal with this??

How do I remove oil stains on concrete driveway? Is it impossible (I think so). Should I get something to cover it up? I tried the water pressure machine, I tried a cleaner, and did not work. Please help!!

You'll need an enzyme product to get the oil up.
The stain? Time (or maybe a bleach).

Dry using Simple Geen or an Orange cleaner, scrub it with a stiff brush, let it soak in an hour hose it off, and do it again.
May not get it all but it sould be better. And find and fix that leak or park over one of those big drip pans.

Powdered Tide detergent works ---get the concrete wet---make a paste out of the powder--broom it in

cover with plastic to keep it wet--let it work--hose it off----that's about as good as you will get--

Thank you everyone!! When this happened before, we covered it up with "crete clean miracle mud concrete cleaner", but I can't find it in the stores anymore

How old is the stain? if it's new, start by covering it with an absorbent product (kitty litter is the cheapest), grind the absorbent in, and sweep it up. Hit any remaining spots with brake cleaner (the kind you buy in a can at NAPA,) and wipe it up.

If it's an older stain, you may have to resort to the acids. I would start with Coca Cola, letting it sit over night. If that does not work, you can up the anti with some Muriatic acid, but don't leave it on overnight! And if you end up using the stuff, make sure to read the MSDS first!

Good luck!

I've had the best luck with motar mix , applied dry and left on for a day or two.

Thank you everyone. I just put the tide paste on. Now it is covered with plastic. Do I leave it overnight? If that doesn't work, I will try Coca Cola (I can't believe we are allowed to drink this) on the driveway. If that doesn't work, I will try bleach, that muriatic acid.

These are old oil stains, that my car keeps adding stains too. Wish me luck.
