Not really DIY but had to post
what do you guys think of this? is this DIY possible? i am referring to the slide, not the pool. seeing this pic made me think about having this coming out my window, with a landing pad on the ground. i am crazy........right

Is that going to be the exit for door to door salesmen and other unwanted visitors?

you'll need slick clothing (going naked won't work, unless you are real sweaty) or water running down it.

Not really DIY but had to post
You would need to design it for a landing pad, you would hit to hard with this style. The fireman pole would be easier to install. I would make a model from pvc first then send hamsters down so you can find the set up that works best. Probably want to make little outfits for the hamsters first so you will get a more accurate idea how how the slide will function.

I think it would be awesome to do, but make it so it goes just slightly over your car, and see if you can program your remove to open the driver window. That way you can land right in your car. Shovelling is overrated. Just get in and drive!

Only problem I could foresee would be if you have bears in your neighborhood. Cuz at some point, one is going to decide to take a nap in there and it could get weird when you slide into him.
