noobie question about carport conversion

Hi all,

First, some background:
Our carport is under main roof against house. The far side is brick pillars. Back is open, front has garage door on it.

Problem is, the carport is too small for cars - the doors bash the wall when you open them - so it's just got rubbish bins and assorted crap sitting under it.

We want to close it in and use it as a workshop/box room. Would close up gargage door on front and put standard door in where it juts out a little from the house, and close up the sides and back. There's powerpoints and lights out there already.

My question is - what would be the easiest way to do this? Bricking the whole lot ourselves sounds like a bit of a mission ... would putting up cladding of some sort along sides work? Any suggestions on how we could go about this project?

Where are you? - country, climate, etc.?

What type of structure is the roof and what is supporting it (beams, posts, etc.)

I'm in Perth, Western Australia. Climate is hot and dry, long summers, short winters.

Carport is sitting on concrete, more than 1 metre from side boundary.

Haven't got any shots of it to help though.

Front (with garage door) and pillars are double brick. Roof is clay tiles, supported by front wall and pillars and house (cut into main roof line).

Idea was to either brick in between pillars, or put up cladding of some sort between pillars (along outside).
