New porchdeck roof

I figured this would be the right place to find out......

I'm building a 32 ft long by 10ft out porch roof.
I want to tie into the house roof rafters.
I took a look under the facia and found that the builder had used 2X6 for facia board. My question is this. Instead of taking off the soffet and facia and tying into the rafters, would it be good to nail joist hangers to the 2X6 facia board to set the porchroof rafters on....??

Every Situation is different... and seeing exactly what you have happening may change the suggestion.

What about attaching a 2 x 10 header directly to the home?
Buying Trusses pre-built may be in your best interest and attaching these to the header board with Joist Hangers as mentioned.

A 2 x 6 or 8 Leveled at the Ridge can be used to secure the peak.
