New Plasterboard and Tiling

Hi please help!

I have replaced a large section of my kitchen will with normal plain plasterboard. Is it OK to just tile straight onto it or do i need to paint it or seal it to waterproof it? If so what should i use?

Thanks

Hi robdiy

It will normally be fine to go right on the plaster board (Many builders have done it this way). However I highly recommend at least sealing it with a primer. This will help keep the wallboard from absorbing the moister from your tile adhesive. This allows it to set up normally.
