New opening in masonry wall

I am thinking of installing a double French door in an existing CMU wall. The house is two stories with the first floor being all CMUs and the second wood framed. The wall that would get cut into would be the gable end of the house.

What I'm wondering is of there are any special requirement for the opening. For example, with a wood frame wall I'd need a header and jack studs to support the header. Is the same necessary for the masonry wall (ie solid block supporting a lentil)? So far both quotes I've received only mention installing a lentil and not grouting the blocks or adding soild blocks to the opening.

Thanks all!

You should be fine with a new lintel as the block on either side will support it.

I usually try to grout two cells down under the lintel
