I'm confused about the Backfill zone and post placement. How far out from the house is it and at what point in time does it cease to exist?
If a deck is built on a house that was built 30 years ago, is it still classified as a backfill zone?
According to the article, in this area the post needs to be down to the footing( not just below the frost line).
