New Construction - Roof Damage Question
I currently have a new home under construction and noticed that the new 30-year roof has several (10-12) nail holes from the siding contractor nailing 2x4s through the roof for something to stand on. The holes have been sealed, but I'm not sure if I am satisfied with this. Should I be asking to have these shingles replaced???

Thanks for any input.

Yes they should be replaced. Sealing the holes made by the contractor is stupid. Hopefully there are shingles left over so they match the rest of the roof.

Yes replace shingles; the cemented nail hole patch might be good for 3 to 5 years and would need to be maintained.

Thank your contractor for the temporary effort. But, please do the right thing and replace the shingles and cement the holes in the underlayment.

Thanks. Exactly what I thought too.
