New addition foundation question

Guys,

I currently live in a spec colonial house with a block basement that is finished.

Attached I have a poured slab garage that has a block foundation.

What I would like to do is to create a 'bump out' in the intersection of these two structures that are attached. This is to expand my kitchen.

I know that I will need to add on to the foundation but the concrete block will not tie into the existing block.

What are your thoughts for building this so that I don't get a possible mis-alignment of separation of the new block from the old.

Note: The new foundation will be below the frost line as per code.

Thanx...

Chris

New addition foundation question

Why wouldn't the new block tie into the old block if it's bumping out off both structures?

New addition foundation question

The old block is actually the outer basement wall and I am not planning to extend the basement. This is going to be a first floor addition.

It doesn't matter if the addition is over a crawl space or a full basement, you still need to tie the addition footing and foundation into the existing structure. That means a physical attachment of some sort.
Who drew up the plans for this? Is this a structure out in the boonies that doesn't need building dept oversight? No building dept would issue a permit for this construction unless your plans conform to the building code.
