I have a 1970 Mobile Home that I bought 15 yrs ago to use for a cabin on a summer property. The title has gotten lost over the years and now I need it. The State says they can't help me unless I have the VIN # (which I don't) . Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get a Title. Where would I find a VIN #?? It doesn't have a tongue or axels anymore. What can I do to get a title.

In my house the manufacturers sticker is on the wall above the circuit breaker, the VIN is on there. Not sure what else to tell ya; if you have had it titled before they should be able to look it up and print a duplicate but maybe not.
Your house is old enough that it shouldn't be a problem but for what it's worth if you remove the tongue and wheels from the property (they have to be left under the home) it is required to comply with all codes that would apply to a stick built home made the same year. That's WI's take on it anyway. Only reason I know is I thought about getting rid of all the crap I didn't need but realized I wouldn't meet code if I did.
Contact the homes manufacturer for the vin# location. If they're out of business, go on a mobile home web site. There will be other owners who can guide you.
You can also try and post the name here. Details get responses that help.
In NY, cars of that age only have registrations, no titles.
