Need to demo ceiling!
So I am getting some icyene spray foam insulation put in, but I need to demo the ceiling before they can spray the stuff. My question is, is my ceiling drywall or plaster? I can't really tell. Please see the pics! Obviously depending on what it is, i would need to demo differently. (The brown you see feels to be a paper/gympsm material, but the white stuff is really hard to the touch. )
If it's plaster, what's the best way to demo it? Thanks for any input!
sorry for the blurriness. the piece of wood is a stud i think. this was taken in the bathroom

Plaster, wood lathe, wire lathe, dirt, dust, dust, dust oh yeh, did I mention dust.
Drywall, dirt, dust, dust, dust, dust oh yeh, did I mention dust.

Your pics are too blurry, I can't tell what I'm looking at.
It almost looks like wet fiberboard.

Pics are still poor, but it looks like it could be plaster over drywall, or plaster over rock-lath.

In the 1st pic, it looks like wood lath. Also the final coating looks like a finish coat of plaster. Bit hard to tell, but I'm going to say plaster w/ wood lath. Can you pick away any of it with a knife to see if its a paper coating?

Need to demo ceiling!
my stupid phone camera sucks!!! yea so the white stuff is real hard, but the brown stuff that its glued to feels like paper. then there is also one final top coat you can kind of make out in the first pic. so assuming the worst that its plaster, how do i best demo it?

Looks like 1/4" plaster on fiberboard as mentioned by DM. Cover the floor with newspaper, then a plastic tarp, then a blanket, then a vinyl tarp.... if tile.
Then spread 6 cardboard boxes under the immediate work area, side by side. Pull it off into the boxes, with a fan blowing outside nearby with a furnace filter taped to the front grill so not to burn the motor up from dust. Hey, it's late, tired....

whatever it is, it will still come down the same way, messy
just minimize the mess as other stated above, sometimes works easier to cut into smaller pieces before you start ripping it down, with a sawzall (just be careful of pipes and wires), so your not ripping it apart piece by piece.
probably good to wear a dust mask, etc.
