I put up an 8" concrete fence, just because I could. These pictures are a few years old. I'll try to take new ones and post them soon.
The project is not 100% complete asthetically. Much of the fence is to have creaping vines covering it. Some but not all of it is planted.
The strength of the fence is in the 14" wide by 24" high above ground footer.
The top 6' of the fence serves as a screen.
The fence was cast in two steps, the 24" footer and then the 6' screen. The screen portion is 6" thick. All concrete is 4000psi.
The linear footage is 210 feet, and the screen portion was cast in three sections. Each section was kept wet for 7 days with soaker hoses and frequent sprays.
There is a real sliding gate here now. While waiting for the gate to be ready I used old form material to close off the opening.
There is now a retaining wall in front of the main wall for raised bed gardening.
This portion was to be 16 feet longer but the pier driller hit an unmarked electric line and so that was it. Lucky for me we did get to the side of the house.
I cast triangle blocks to finish out the ledge.
I have washed down the fence with a cement and sand mix to finish out the surface.
