Hi guys and gals,

Im reworking an old house and trying to get another heat supply to the second floor. House is stucco so the there's basically firring strips on the exterior walls and this is just about the only spot to locate a supply. Based on the joists location I dont have much room to work with. I need to move one stud over about 2.5 inches to give me enough room for a supply. Take a look at the picture and let me know if this is feasible or if there are other alternatives. Thanks a bunch.

So there are no interior walls..... Cutting an outside wall-- lose the structural integrity for shear flow, seismic flow, wind shear, lateral shear, etc. Loose most of the heat to the outside before it gets where you want it. I would look hard for another route.

Be safe, G
