moving my cold air return


i would like to close my cold air return in the hallway, and open the same cold air return on the other side of the wall in the dining room.There is already an existing cold air return on the opposite side of the dining room. Is this possible

more info would help/pic/location/what is "cold air return"? a passive vent, or part of an hrv? etc.

I've done it during a recent kitchen remodel and it's pretty easy to do.
