Moving a deck post

We need to move a deck post and foot over to raise it out of the flood plain. Can it be moved over?

This would depend on structure.
Please include a photo of the deck and the post in question.
How far do you need to move it?
Will you be able to carry the load?

It may be a good idea to call in a local inspector to see if this is plausable.

Not sure I follow. Why are you concerned about a post being in the floodplain? Or is the local building inspector ordering you to move the post?
