Moldy sheetrock new home construction

New home construction elevated slab, full brick kitchen flooring installed 1 week ago & AC is not yet turned on. I live in New Orleans & today 1 week post Isaac noted that the sheetrock in the kitchen is wet & moldy. Did moisture from the brick wick up the sheetrock??? Thoughts anyone?

All that rain and no A/C running, no dehumidifer, high humidity, wet concrete drying out, drywall mud drying out, not a good mix.
Was the drywall installed about 1/2" up off the floor?
Can you post a picture of how bad it is?

Drywall extended to the slab, such that the drywall was between the brick/mortor and bottom plate. Yes, bad idea, as u say, drywall should have stopped half inch above the brick.

The mortar water (atomized) went to the walls, first condensing surface; http://www.buildingscience.com/docum...bout-diffusion

Were windows open for cross ventilation, mechanical fans? Clean it all before HVAC it all over the house...
