Molding across rooms with differing floors

We recently installed a new floating floor and are in the process of putting up new molding. This is our first modling project. Where the new floor meets the old, however, there is a 1/4 inch gap as the new floor is higher. What is the best way to finish this? Thanks in advance

I would use a reducing threshold. You attach a T molding to the floor then snap in the wood threshold. There should be a good selection at the store where the laminate was purchased.
