moisture barrier question in crawlspace

In our crawl space there's a plastic moisture barrier then stone on top. Is that the right way to do it. We were informed it should be the opposite. Stone then plastic?

moisture barrier question in crawlspace

Is just putting plastic moisture barrier enough? Can stone go on top of the plastic in a crawl space?

moisture barrier question in crawlspace

i have seen it both ways. some say put some crushed limestone on top give the crawlspace a sweet smell. i personally do not like gravel in crawl at all due to more likely to puncture the moisture barrier

moisture barrier question in crawlspace

Stone serves no purpose under or on top of the plastic. Just using 16" insulation hangers bent in half will hold it in place.
