adding a 22 X 14 room to rear of house; mobile,AL south exposure. Ok, pitch if too low for timberline shingles; So, if not shigles, what roof cover do you recommend for best perf.(1-1/2 on12)--bearing in mind that I have to tie it in with the shingles on two sides of flat roof? thanks again.

Reason: ans. 2nd "half" of question
Try going to the web page of the shingle manufacturer you are looking at using. They should have a specification of minimum ( and likely maximum ) roof pitch that the shingles should be used on. (might be on the bundle too )

Shingles require a minimum pitch of 3:12.
