Minimum Insulation Requirements?

I framed out a bathroom in my garage (un heated). What is the minimum insulation that I can put in the ceiling?

Can I use R13?

Also what is the minimum ceiling height?

Insulation requirements are regional in nature. To a certain extent, so are height requirements. Try contacting the local building dept. I would have thought the plans you filed would be a hint. You can't just slap in a bath without oversight.

I never told them how high the powder room would be nor what insulation would be in the ceiling.

I will call them I guess.

I doubt you can use R13 regardless of where you are.

Most of your heat loss through the ceiling. If you live in the northeast you should have a minimum of 12 inch's, up to 16 inch's.:yes:There is no point in having more than 16 inch's.
