Maximum absolute deflection value


What is the maximum deflection for the areas of my house with hardwood flooring and carpet? The floor joists on this addition have a 23' clear span, and I can achieve l/512 total load deflection. My concern is that the absolute total load deflection is .53" (live load deflection is .42"). Do you think this amount of deflection would produce any negative effects?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand exactly what your question is. Are you concerned about having too much deflection for the hardwood flooring, and it will come lose or crack?

I guess my main concern is any perceivable vibration or flexing.

I think I'll shoot for a TJ Pro score in the 50s. This is the proprietary rating that the Weyerhaeuser Forte software (free download from ilevel.com) produces:
