Matching Texture

2 Attachment(s)
I need to match this texture on a ceiling. There are multiple places that need patches and I am not sure how to match it. Any advice, thought, etc would be helpful.

Thanks!

Reproducing a textured ceiling is a very hard thing to do. If you want to try, get yourself some examples of texture that's close to yours and practice on some sheetrock until you get it close(or give up)
You might check out You Tube videos or "how to" videos over the web.

its a knockdown finish ( friend of mine calls it ' tuscan trowel ' so he can charge more  ) i'm not all that bad at patching but, to match an original finish, usually the original guy has to do it,,, you'll always notice your work compared to his,,, fwiw, hire a pro - i do !

Yes indeed that is a tuscan trowel deluxe technique :), very difficult to match.
I'd say try using 1" nap roller and touscan down after 5 min...
Practice on a scrap piece of drywall and try using couple different nap sizes.
That is definitely rolled on texture not sprayed so it's all about finding a same nap, same compound, same knock down timing and the same angle...

Good luck

I think i am going to totally disagree with the last to posts.

I believe it was toweld on like stucco. regular mud and then it was flattend after a little drytime.

The way it is in rows is a good indication that it was used with a trowel.

It is a very thick texture but oh VERY EASY to match.

get a drywall knife or a handheld stucco trowel. and just practice putting it on in straight lines. let it sit and then flatten it out.

Im an expert. i can match anything
