Matching Mortar?

Hello,

I have a 60 yr old brick home that I put an addition on. I want to try and match the existing mortar. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks!

Matching Mortar?

With squinty eyes.

The problem with "matching" mortar is that if you make the fresh mortar match, it probably won't when it ages and vice-versa.

Matching Mortar?

Post some pics if you can, good close up color of mortar.

some old tricks like adding oatmeal / coffee grounds/ but you need to start off right.... white or yellow sand.... white or gray portland...
