Matching and extending a roof line

I have a lean to add on porch and would like to extend existing roof to cover this flat roof. I am wondering if I could extend rafters on one side of existing roof to bring center of roof in line and keep more pitch on added roof to cover porch . I did not know if it is feasible to extend a rafter like I am wanting to do. It looks like less than 6 ft need to be added.

Without at least a few pictures of what you have it's anyones g uess.
Even then someone really needs to be on site to have a look at it.

I guess I was asking if anyone had seen this type of thing done. I know bolting added rafter stock and bracing is not that big a deal just thought I could make roof line side to side match a little closer and get some more fall on the new roof section that will extend over the porch.

I'd hip the over lay roof.

Wow Great idea would add interest to the roof as well as solve my problem.

Only if your definition of "interest" is "butt ugly".

Andy.
