matching existing steel siding

I deleted a window in my house. I need siding to fill in where the window used to be. It is 8" single lap steel. The only marking on it are a 353 CA on the back. Is there any way to track down this siding with these numbers? If not, any one have any suggestions on what to do? At the local menards, they don't even have 8" steel. I don't know how old the siding its, or if it's still available. I moved into the house in 09, and the siding had been painted once. Thanks

Not likely but post a picture of what you have anyway.

How old do you think it is? Is the siding "seamless"?

Here are some pics of a small piece of it. I'm not sure how old it is. Like I said, It's already been painted once, so I'm guessing it's kind of old. The house was built in 53 or so, but the steel is over the original painted cedar, so it's not from the 50's. It isn't seamless. The local menards has an 8" aluminum siding with the wood grain in it. I would buy it if I knew they would snap together with the existing stuff? Are they in any way universal? Thanks again

You'll never find a match. as far as the new locking into the old..maybe. Take your scrap to the green store with you and see.

Even to replace it you would have to start at the top and remove all the siding down to the row below the area needing to be repaired.
There is not just snapping in a few new pieces with steel or aluminum siding.
There's going to be some that gets damaged at the top trying to get the first row out.

Are you sure that is steel and not aluminum? Steel siding is extremely rare.

I'd be going to a real siding supply house to look for this one, not a lumber yard or box store.

I took it in. The only sample they have is way up on the wall, so I can't compare.

I already have everything removed that needs to be.

Yes, I'm sure it's steel.
