Masonite siding

I have a home I bought 18mo. ago. It has two types of Masonite siding. For the most part it's in good shape. But I have 2 places where the siding is bowing. I'd like to just cut out and replace these two bad spots.
Is there a replacement for Masonite, without having to re-side the whole house.

First pic is the problem. Second pic is the other style of siding.

No ice dams. That particular section is on the other side of the bathroom shower/tub. Id on't think the bathroom is the culprit though. Maybe. Won't know till I rip it out. But till I find a suitable replacement for the siding, It's a guess.

I read on here that using water before painting will cause it to buckle.

Also the ban wall all along the perimeter in the crawlspace is not insulated and I have condensation forming, turning the banwall black. But that's a who;le other issue. I already know how to fix that.
