Looking for suggestions on how to hide large AC adapter behind wall-mounted keypad.
I'm installing a home security system in my house and the main keypad is apparently designed to be sat on top of a table or flat surface, as opposed to being hung on the wall. There's a plastic tray that attaches to the back and angles it up, like an office phone. Once that's removed, there are two mounting holes to hang it on the wall.
The problem is it needs DC power, so there's a rather large (2" thick) AC adapter that need to be plugged in. I have a 110 volt switch right next to where I want to hang, it so I was going to run power from there. I planned on getting a recessed wall box, but none of the boxes I've come across are keep enough (usually 1" deep).
I can't imagine any way to do this, but I figured I'd ask. Any suggestions?
