Log Blasting

What is the difference between a Harbor Freight media blaster (they sell walnut shells) at around $100 and the corn blasters that retail for $3500; I need to take whitewash off the inside of an old log building and it looks like the lower price media blaster will do the job. Thoughts, anyone?

sandblasters from h/f work well for about 10min,,, rent a decent ( clemco, schmidt, etc ) 300# pot w/air dryer,,, for best results, place 150w outdoor light bulb under the mixing chamber.

IF you're going to do this work professionally, you'll buy the right tools,,, IF you're a h/o-diy'er, you'll be cheap & go to h/f,,, guess you're the latter as a pro would already know,,, when you rent the air compressor ( 185cfm's best ), be sure air's dry as you can get it,,, btw, 1/4" venturi nozzle works well

There is a sandblasting forum on the sister site--Contractor talk. Click on the link at the bottom of this page. It's for pros --but you can learn a bit by reading.

Media blasting services might not charge as much as you think--Have you made any calls?
