Locating an Ipe deck builder in Michigan

We're replacing our cedar deck and are looking for a lower maintenance material. From what I've read, Ipe seems like it would meet our needs. I've contacted several deck builders in our area but have not yet found one that works primarily with Ipe. A few of them have said that they've used it but I'd like to find someone that has gone through the learning curve and has years of experience to draw upon. We haven't definitely decided on Ipe but I'd like to meet with an Ipe specialist as well as the builders who will make a case for their preferred material.

Any suggestions?

Why wouldn't you use the cedar again. I am trying to decide which to use for my deck replacement, Ipe or cedar.

It's used so rarely in most parts of the county due to the cost it's highly unliky your going to find someone that specializes in it. Any deck builder should be able to do this.
The only learning curve is having to predrill anyplace where a screw is going.
It's a lot more labor intensive and is going to cost them more for blades and bits so expect to pay more for labor.

I built my own back porch and landing (in Mi.) using recycled Ipey and Jarrah. It's beautiful still, but I do have to (boiled linseed) oil it a couple of times a year to keep it pretty.
