Lighting help for recessed ceiling project

I am putting in an acoustic tile drop ceiling below a dryway ceiling in my theater room. I don't have a way to sound above the ceiling and I can't lose more than a couple of inches ceiling height so I am going to use a flush mount system called ceilingmax. The problem is the existing recessed ceiling lights. The new ceiling is about 1.5" below the current ceiling. I can put the existing baffles and trim on, but the baffle is slightly below the flood light. Do they make a longer baffle that beats the existing 4' one. Or is this not a problem safety wise?

I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish. When you say," I don't have a way to sound above the ceiling...", are you trying to sound deaden by putting up the ceiling max tiles?Seems a lot of effort and material cost for a tiny return.
If you want true sound deadening, you need to do a lot more then that.
Remove the drywall and add special sound insulation, then channels isolating the drywall from the joists or install sound deadening drywall to the ceiling. Much more effective then the tiles.
