Only the licensing authority knows that answer... Each state/ country is different...
Wheelbase, 'n tire size also comes into play...

I have had a 33000lb tag for one year. When you go in to DMV they have a chart, you can buy as much weight as you want, but that don't make my truck legal if it is overloaded per the capicity of the truck. If the distance from hub to hub is fiveteen feet, what would the number of tons of rock I could put into the truck?

A Trucker's Atlas would have the answers for some of the questions under the weight section. As for the truck, manufacturer & model helps those trying to answer your questions. Big difference from a Mack to a GMC, to a Ford F350.

Ayuh,... There's Alotta ways a trooper can write ya an Over-weight ticket,...

Single drive axle,... 20,000lbs...
Single steering axle,... probably 12,000lbs, but could be rated higher...

Then the bridge law,...
15' is pretty long for that,... You'll probably be able to scale the full registration rate...

We used to have a short wheelbase R-model Mack tractor that we put a 9' box on,...
It could scale 9 tons pay-load...
Another 1 had a 10' box, 'n wheelbase to match,... it could scale 9.5/ 10 tons...
Here in Ny state anyways...
