I have a queen 16x16 2 floor building wondering what is the best way to build a lean-to off of it? off the wall or the roof.

You need to be more specific of what your wanting to do.

I want to build off one side to start with and close in the back, side, and close in the front with a door so i can pull lawnmower, fourwheeler, not really worried about a floor.

If it was my shed, I would place the lean-to rafters on top of the wall plate.
You will need to open up the 'eaves' in order to do that.

I'd also open up the eaves, and I'd match the the flare out roof making it 1 continuous roof down to about 3' or so above ground level, then put another wall, and continue the roof another foot for an overhang.

if thats not enough room, I'd remove the flare out and start at were the flare out used to start.
