Laundry Closet Door

Hello,

I had to remove the laundry closet's Bifold doors to install new washer and drier. I am unable to use the bifold doors now as the new washer and drier's depth is more than the previous ones and the doors are scratching the washer and drier when I open them.

I am left with 5 inches of space and am looking for economic solutions (200-300$) to cover the closet opening. Not too keen on putting a curtain as I want something that will reduce the sound, and also I am afraid it might bring down the value of the house.

Thank you,
Anon

Replace with sliding doors instead of the folding ones.

I think what Bob was suggesting would be regular interior door slabs-hung on a sliding track.

Be aware the manufacturer's requirements if a gas appliance for combustible air supply through doors in a closet.
