join poured concrete wall to CMU wall?

Is is possible to make a retaining wall that is a combination of poured concrete and cmu?

Because of an odd size and limited area, I'd like to make one section using poured concrete now, and join it to a cmu wall at a corner in the future. Is that possible using rebar and filling the core with mortar?

p.s. Thanks for the answers in my related post on joining slabs.

of course ! deform'd rebar works fine,,, you'll always have a joint where they abut,,, most important's the drainage system behind the wall & the strength of the footer,,, think we need permits here over 4' - haven't run into the stamp'd plans rqmts yet, tho,,, fill w/grout over conc.

wouldn't retaining wall blocks work better for you ? ? ?
