Which Insulation to use??

Guys I live in Upstate NY. It is very cold here in the winter. We typically get about 6 months of Winter. Going to re-do upstairs. Going to install all new insulation in the Attic and walls upstairs.

I'm thinking R-49 for the attic....

And either R-18 or R-22 for the walls...

And R-19 for the crawl spaces in our extra room upstairs...

This sound about right????

What material? If possible, get it done with cellulose.

ok it says....

The add says Owens Corning insulation Products. It looks like Fiber Glass Insulation I suppose??? Should I use this type or something else. I'm a beginner so please I'm open to any advice possible...

How thick (deep) or your walls?

If you're running 2x4 studs i don't even think its possible to shove r-22 in there (ive never tried) as for the attic, i would think r-38 would be sufficient but the more the better in my opinion... especially if you've ever had an ice dam.

From what i can see...

Walls don't look to deep at all. Plaster and lathe, no insulation. Haven't measured yet though.

R-38 Sounds good. I really have no idea...

Your studs are probably true 4 inch.
