insulation of rim joist


I have pink insulation in the joist already can i just foam over that

insulation of rim joist


Seems like the weight of the foam would cause the insulation to fall apart unless you used a wasteful amount. Why not pull it out, and use rigid foam board instead? If you cut accurately, you could just caulk the edges and not even need any spray foam.
