I'm having a new home built and although I've had insulation blown in the attic of my other homes, which was usually pink, I've never seen this stuff before. What is this? It looks like it's made out of paper. Is it any good?
BTW, although you can't read it, they've apparently blown 10" of this stuff in my attic. Is that adequate for the mid-Atlantic area?
Good stuff. I put 16" my house...close to an r50. joasis is right tigher with time in addition will also develop a slight crust with age. Many will debate til blue in their face on which product is better...but what you have is time proven product. Check out http://www.cocooninsulation.com/ and http://www.cellulose.org/cellulose.html
The next shed I build will have dense pack cellulose for the walls....I like the stuff...
