Insulation

dedge Newbie   Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 1	Insulation We are building a new home in WV. My builder is installing R-38 insulation into 2x4 ceiling joists will it still have a R-value of 38 in 2x4's?

jkv Member   Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 121	Insulation If the bats are not installed right they will lose the r- value. Be sure the paper is on the condition space side and make sure you have barrier over them. You really need around R-48 in your attic. And seal them top plates in your attic and if you have any neewalls up there be sure to seal them up to.
