Insulating/vapor barrier a block house

I'm renovating a 1923 American Foursquare House. Brick on outside over block with plaster right on the block. I want to 2x4 frame the ext. walls to foam board insulate, rewire and duct. This is the question. Would it be a good idea to Tyvek the plaster exterior walls as a vapor barrier? Should the vap/barr be towards the room? Thanks Tim B.
