Insulating an unheated cellar
Our home is 200 years old and we want to insulate between the cellar ceiling joists to insulate the floors on the first floor. The furnace is in the cellar and nothing freezes but the upstairs floors are very cold. The cellar is mostly dirt floor except for the furnace area. Do we need faced or unfaced insulation and R-11 or R-19? Thanks. We live in upstate New york.
