I want to insulate under my kitchen floor. It is cold in the winter because it is right in side the bilko doors in the basement. I know that i need to install insulation with the moisture barrier toward the living space but what if both sides are considered living spaces. One side is the kitchen and the other is the basement. Is there such thing as double faced insulation?
If the basement space is conditioned (heated or cooled), I'd use unfaced batts. If it isn't conditioned, I'd use faced with the faced side closest to the warm-in-winter side of the floor joist (facing to the bottom of the kitchen floor).
Thank you for the fast reply. It's good to know there are people there to help when you need it. Your response makes perfect sense. It is not a condition space so i will use faced with the barrier on the kitchen floor side. Thanks again.
