Insulating cabin

I would like to insultate underneath our pier and beam cabin. Does the vapor barrier of the insulation go towards the subfloor? Would it be a good idea after the insulation is in place to staple plastic to the joists and also put plastic on the ground.

Any thoughts

Thanks

Greg

Insulating cabin

If the underside is open to the exterior, I would install plywood to cover the insulation to keep critters out of it. If it's an enclosed crawlspace, I'd only put plastic(6 mil) on the ground.
Vapor barrier up toward the heated space.
