Installling Basement Egress Windows

I am in the planning stages of refinishing my basement. I have a handfull of questions on egress windows. The wall I want to install two windows on is 39' 4" long. Both windows will be atleast 3 feet from the corner's. I need to put two windows in because I want two bedrooms. The fondation is largely exposed so I will not need to dig a well to meet the 44" requirement.

How much should I expect to pay to rent the saw?

Is it as straight forward as I think? Far as I know I just measure, cut, and breakup the chunk.

How do I know if I need to use a header?

How much is an average size egress window going to cost?

On the prices. I know it hard to say, but I live in the St. Louis Area, and just need ballpark numbers to know what to plan for.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
John

For the rental price, you would go to the rental store, tell them the job details and they would tell you what saw to use and the dailey rental fee.
For the window, you would find out what size you need and go to a window store and ask the salesman how much it will cost.
You will need a header.

Is the foundation poured concrete or cocnrete block? If it's the former, it isn't as easy as just hitting it a few times with a sledge. The whole job in general isn't really for a novice IMO. I would recommend looking for a concrete sawing outfit in your area, as they can make short work out of it for you. Good Luck.
